Photos and gallery: limits, formats, and cropping

In short: the gallery holds up to 10 photos, accepts JPG, PNG, and WebP (plus GIF, AVIF, and SVG), and every file is automatically compressed before upload to roughly 1 MB and 1920 pixels. Gallery tiles have fixed aspect ratios, so photos with different proportions are cropped from the centre - that is intentional, and you can control it.

Where to add photos

Open Photo Gallery and click Add Photo. Drop the file onto the Drag an image here or click to browse area. For each photo you can fill in a Caption (shown under the photo on the page) and Alt Text - both in Polish and English. Alt text is optional: when empty, we generate a description from the couple's names and the photo number, but your own description is better for screen readers and search engines. Saved changes appear on the page immediately.

Limits and formats

• Number of photos: up to 10. The counter next to the button shows where you are (e.g. 7 / 10), and at the limit you will see Gallery is full - remove a photo to add another.
• Formats: the upload hint lists JPG, PNG, and WebP; the server also accepts GIF, AVIF, and SVG.
• Size: before upload the file is automatically compressed to about 1 MB and at most 1920 pixels on the longer side (you will see a compressed note by the file). The hard server-side limit is 10 MB. So you never need to resize anything yourself - even straight-from-camera photos go through.

If an upload ends with Image upload failed. Please try again., the most common cause is an unusual file format (e.g. HEIC from an iPhone) - save the photo as JPG or PNG and try again.

Gallery visibility for guests

Above the photo list there is a Gallery visible to guests switch. When turned off you will see Gallery hidden - the section disappears from the wedding page, but the photos stay in the panel and one click brings it back. Why a photo looks cropped

This is intentional: gallery tiles have fixed proportions and the photo is fitted from the centre so the grid stays even. The proportions depend on the gallery layout:

• Grid - uniform aspect ratios: square tiles,
• Masonry - varied heights (the default) and Justified - natural aspect ratios in rows: portrait 3:4 tiles.

Photos with other proportions - wide panoramas especially - lose their sides or top and bottom. If something important disappears from the frame, crop the photo before uploading so the key element sits in the middle, or change the gallery layout.

Layout and guest-page settings

You change the layout in the Content tab: select the gallery section, and in its settings you will find Gallery layout with the three options listed above. Two more settings sit next to it:

• Maximum images - how many of the uploaded photos to show guests (leave empty to show all),
• Allow image download - when on, a download icon appears on the tiles.

Photo order and swapping

Photos display in the order you added them, and that order cannot currently be changed in the panel. Before you delete everything and re-upload, use swapping instead: hover over a tile, click Edit Photo, then Replace on the preview - the new photo takes the old one's place (and position). That way you can rearrange the gallery's content without touching the tile order.
